Joanne del Corral Honored

Ms. Joanne del Corral has been honored by the SSU chapter of Order of Omega as one of eight outstanding teachers for 2003-04.

The Order of Omega is an honorary fraternity founded to recognize outstanding fraternity and sorority members for excellence in leadership, scholarship, and community service.

A 1983 graduate of the Department of Physics and Astronomy, Ms. del Corral has taught part-time in the Department for most of the past 20 years. She specializes in lower division laboratory classes, where her patience and consideration of her students is much appreciated. The fraternity cited her “as an outstanding faculty member because you promote academic excellence, support students outside of class, and encourage student achievement.”

Ms. del Corral was presented with a certificate of appreciation at a luncheon December 4. She states that she found the luncheon “a very touching and meaningful experience.”
