The Eratosthenes experiment will be conducted on Wednesday, March 22 at the time of local noon. On this date students from Sonoma State University (SSU) and the University of British Columbia (UBC) will observe and report the altitude of the sun.
Observations obtained at any other time and date will not be useable for this experiment.
The rain date for this experiment will be Thursday, March 23 at the time of local noon. You should be prepared to obtain observations on both dates since we will not necessarily know in advance what conditions will be at the other site (SSU or UBC).
Sonoma State students should post their observed altitude to the class forum Eratosthenes Observations as soon as possible after the observations are obtained. All observations (from both sites) will be posted on the public website for the Eratosthenes Project at
