Chemistry/Physics 481 Applied Nuclear Chemistry and Physics
Prerequisites: Physics 214, Chemistry 115A.

- Lamarsh, John R. & Anthony J. Baratta, Introduction to Nuclear Engineering, 3rd edition, 2001, Prentice Hall, available in our bookstore.
- Nuclides and Isotopes, 15th edition, 1996, General Electric Co. You will be guided through using this valuable tool. A web version with additional neutron data is at: http://www2.bnl.gov/ton/.
Course Outline
Grading: The grade will be based on homework (15%), a midterm quiz (40%), and a final quiz (45%). Both quizzes are in class and will consist of multiple choice and short answer questions.
Homework: Problem suggestions will be handed out on Wednesdays. These will be due the following Wednesday, at which time solutions will be handed out. Problem Suggestions #1.
Prerequisites: Physics 214, Chemistry 115A.

Accompanying Laboratory Course: You are encouraged to take Chemistry/Physics 482 concurrently with this course.
