Scott A. Severson - Advising

Advising As the Department of Physics and Astronomy Academic Advisor, I am here to help you achieve your educational goals. Existing and prospective majors may contact me with questions or concerns by phone, e-mail or during my office hours. Spring 2013: 11:00-11:50 AM Monday and Thursday.

Scheduling an advising appointment is done via a web-calendar. Advising sessions are 20 minutes long. Complete the following tasks before your advising session and be sure to bring your paperwork to your appointment:
  1. Print out a copy of your Academic Requirements Report from PeopleSoft.
  2. Fill out the appropriate GE Pattern worksheet. Students attending SSU beginning in their freshman year complete the 51 unit GE pattern sheet; transfer students (with >30 transfer units) complete the 48 unit GE pattern sheet.
  3. Consult the Physics Major degree requirements and course descriptions. The Astronomy Minor requirements, course descriptions and the SSU General Catalog may be useful.
  4. Select and complete the appropriate Major advising form.
