SSU Students Win 20% of National SPS Summer Internships
Graduating physics majors Aman Gill and Maxfield Torke have won two of the ten summer internships offered through the national Society of Physics Students organization. Gill was selected for the American Physical Society Outreach internship, working with Becky Thompson at APS headquarters in College Park, MD. Torke will be working at NASA Goddard Space Flight Center in Greenbelt, Maryland, helping to develop astronomical instrumentation to measure the cosmic microwave background. Gill was formerly SSU's SPS President, and is now serving as the Zone 18 (California) Associate councilor. Her photo is currently in rotation on the national SPS home page: http://spsnational.org/ Torke was also active in SSU's SPS chapter, serving as Vice President last year.
